About
Particles! BBS was founded on May 25th, 1992 though it wasn't the first BBS we ran, but it was the last name we chose. Previous boards started in 1989 as The Mental Institution and 1990 as Arctic Games. The board has been running more or less non stop for almost 15 years.
We started on a C64 and migrated to an Amiga in 1994, and then to a PC in 1995 where it stayed until Dec 2006. It's now gone full circle and is running on a C64 hooked to the Internet. So .. why the heck would you want to play on a Commodore 64?
It's so old school, it's cool.
Download straight to your C64 from a C64.
Online games such as Nuke'em and Empire.
It has lots of colors and is pretty and stuff.
The Setup
The BBS is currently running on either a C64C or a C128D and the following equipment...
2 1581 3.5" drives
2 1571 5.25" doublesided drives
1750 REU Clone (512K upgrade)
Omnitronix Nullmodem interface
BBS Server 1.3 to interface it to the Internet
Cbase 3.1

How to Access
Grab BBS Server 1.3 and hook your Commodore computer to the Internet is the best way to view this. If that doesn't work, grab CGTERM
from the link below and aim it towards particlesbbs.dyndns.org. Using an ANSI terminal is not recommended as the board uses a lot of PETSCII or Commodore's default ASCII translation. It just won't look right.
CGTERM for OSX and Windows
