Well hello... yesterday I went through my A/V cables and decided I had way too many duplicate cables that I'm not likely to need or want to use.... So I filled three shopping bags and dumped them off at REPC ... and just when I thought I could escape without buying anything I found myself lured over to the As Is department where I found what was practically a new in box 300baud GE 3-8200 Acoustic Modem with power supply, cover, and C64 userport cable for $6..
There wasn't any documentation but I'd swear this thing must have only been used once and then put back in the box. Not much you can do with it... but that wont stop me from trying to dial into something once my parents get VOIP. The call quality on our current land line has gone to complete crap over the last year or so and I don't think I ccould get any kind of dialup working on it.
