This Model 12 had an issue with one of its 8″ disk drives. Being these are also unobtanium, I grabbed the spec sheet and found we had a few bad capacitors that were easy enough to replace.
The next big issue was the keyboard. Tandy used foam inserts instead of springs which break down due to age and usage. Luckily Texelec makes replacements.
And lastly, writing 8″ disks these days isn’t something that’s easy to do. I was able to find an old P166MMX computer with floppy disk controller, and I build an FD50to34 adapter to hook it up to the 8″ disks.
